Digestive Problems These are just a few of the conditions that we can treat. Acupuncture is able to treat a very wide range of (apparently) unrelated health conditions is that it rebalances the flows of energy (life-energy or Chi) in your body. Imbalances in your Chi energy result in illness. The type of illness or health condition depends on the nature of the imbalance. The points chosen in an acupuncture treatment will be specific to your condition, to help correct the imbalances that are causing your condition or allowing illness to manifest.
Acupuncture is a highly effective therapy, originating in ancient China, that has evolved over several thousand years and finally spread world-wide, gaining acceptance from the western medical establishment, and even finding its place in the NHS.
While western
medicine has embraced the effectiveness of acupuncture, the way
this therapy gets results comes from a very different paradigm
to the western one: that in order to best treat physical or
mental/emotional conditions, we should rebalance a
person's energy. This Chi or life-energy is the intermediary between your body and your mind. The state of your physical body affects your energy. Your energy affects your mental/emotional state. In turn, your mental/emotional state strongly affects your energy, which affects your body.
So we can see that
your energy is the medium by which your mind and body
interrelate.
The effects of
traditional acupuncture treatment on the body are quite widely
known in the West, but less known are the mental, emotional
and spiritual benefits, which can be life-changing,
transformative, and profound. Over a course of
treatment, patients often experience feelings of physical and
mental harmony that had been long-forgotten.
